Hi, I’m Fr Michael, Rector of the Parish of Woy Woy. Welcome to our website, and on behalf of the worshipping community, I welcome you warmly to the Anglican Parish of Woy Woy. Our parish services the whole of the Peninsula, on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW, including the communities of Woy Woy, Umina Beach, Ettalong Beach, Booker Bay, Pearl Beach, Patonga and Blackwall. Your tour of of website will lead you on a journey of discovery as to who we are, what we do, when we do it, and why we do it.
Our worship of God encourages each and every one of us along an adventurous journey of faith. We are an inclusive church that seeks to proclaim the love of God met in the person of Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus - his teaching, example, death, and resurrection are what draws us together in community. We seek to model our lives on His example, living life abundantly.
We are a church that embraces the richness of our Anglican heritage that is at the same time catholic and reformed. The eucharist (Holy Communion) lies at the heart of our spiritual ethos with all activity, missional or otherwise, stemming from this sacramental act of Sunday worship.
The members of our parish would love to welcome you to one of our regular services. We have two parish centres: one at St Luke’s in Woy Woy and the other at St Andrew’s in Umina Beach. Please feel free to visit whichever church is closest to you.
Like any sports team or club, we value spending time together and doing things that are really important to us. At our church services, we give thanks to God for all that he has given us and we learn about the teachings of Jesus Christ and think about how we can live the way he taught us to. We really believe that his teachings are the key to a satisfying life and we have found that they give us meaning and purpose in our lives.
Fr Peter Mumford is our associate priest and has worked here since 2007. Before that he worked as Senior Anglican Chaplain to the NSW Police, and as an Army Reserve Chaplain, as well as serving in parish ministry in Muswellbrook, Taree, Murrurundi and Beresfield.
When you contact our parish office, you will probablyspeak to Denise, our parish administrator, or one of our other office volunteers: Sari, Hendrina or Jill. If you would like to find out more about what we can offer you, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us, either through the office, or by email. Details on our contact page.
May the peace of The Lord be always with you.
Fr. Michael Davies (Parish Rector)
