O
ur clergy team consists of the Rector, the Rev. Penny Jones, assisted by the Rev. Kate Macneil and the Rev. Peter Mumford.

The clergy team co-operate at every level with teams of volunteers, who take forward our mission and ministry. If you would like to volunteer please contact the Parish Office.

The Rev. Penny Jones

Our Rector, the Rev. Penny Jones, has been with the Parish since December 2005. Penny was one of the first women to be ordained priest in the Church of England in 1994, having previously served as a lay minister, deaconess and deacon in a variety of settings in the UK. Since coming to Australia she has further developed her ministry of spiritual direction and particularly enjoys conducting retreats.

She is married to the Revd. Dr. Jonathan Inkpin, the General Secretary of the NSW Ecumenical Council, who also assists in the parish in an honorary capacity.

They have twin daughters, Sonia and Cathleen, who are now studying at university, and a border collie called Angel, who oversees everything!

Ministry in Woy Woy is a delight. There is always something fresh to try and everyone is so friendly!

The Rev. Peter Mumford

The Rev. Peter Mumford has been Associate Priest in Woy Woy (two days a week) since March 2007. Born 2/09/1940 at Wagga Wagga NSW, he commenced work as a apprentice telephone technician with the Post Master Generals Department in 1955.

Peter attended St John's College Morpeth for Canberra Goulburn Diocese in 1962 & 1963, however he did not complete Theological Studies at this time. He resumed study in 1974 and 1975, was ordained deacon in 1976 and priest in 1977.

Peter has worked as Assistant Priest at Muswellbrook (1976,1977) and Taree (1978,1979), and as Rector at Murrurundi (1980-83) and Beresfield (1983-1988). He has also worked as Army Reserve Chaplain (1981-2002) and as Senior Anglican Chaplain to the NSW Police (1988-2005). He retired in January 2006.

Woy Woy is a great parish with many warm committed and friendly people and I enjoy the opportunity for ministry there very much.

The Rev. Kate Macneil

The Rev. Kate Macneil was ordained Deacon in Christchurch Cathedral, Newcastle on February 25 2008. She has been suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since 2005, so works part-time.

Kate had a varied working life before now, including being an office cleaner and an extra in the television mini-series "The Potato Factory." She loves being around people, so this a great job for her.

Kate is particularly fond of Hebrew, and thus the Old Testament, but being involved in any Bible study is a great joy. She is excited by how much is going on in the parish, and the ways it is looking to the future.

I've found the Parish of Woy Woy to be such a caring, welcoming place, it is great to be a part of a parish where people truly care for one another.
